After a tiring day, sleep is not just a want; it's a need. Many of us try to avoid it by sipping coffee or staying occupied with various tasks. But eventually, we all have to give in to sleep. It's a universal truth. So why do we look at life's ultimate rest—a sleep from which we never wake up—in such a negative light?

At the end of each day, as we lay in our beds, thoughts often flood our minds. We find ourselves thinking, "I could have achieved more today" or "I should have used my time in a better way." If you’re like me these thoughts make us uneasy, leaving us to toss and turn in our beds. However, when we've had a truly productive day, filled with accomplishments and meaningful tasks, our sleep feels rewarding. We drift into dreamland with a sense of satisfaction, knowing that we've earned our rest.

Imagine, then, the day when you have to lay in a bed for the final time—your deathbed. Would your thoughts echo the sentiments of a well-spent life or a life wasted? Will you look back on your life and think, "I could have done so much more," or will you reflect on your years and feel content, thinking, "I truly made the most of my time. I faced life's challenges head-on and made memories that will last forever"?

Now, when I refer to "work," I'm not just talking about your 9-to-5 job or the community service activities you've been part of. Work, in this context, encompasses everything that life throws at you—the daily struggles, the challenges that seemed insurmountable, and the barriers that you found a way to get past. It's about waking up each day and making a conscious effort to be better, do better, and live better.

Ask yourself: what will you remember? Will your mind replay the countless hours you spent scrolling aimlessly through social media? Or will you think about the remarkable moments that defined you? Will you reflect on the sacrifices you made and the hurdles you overcame to raise your children to be responsible adults? Who knows what it might include, but we all know the parts we hope we don’t remember - the times we regret.

As you approach that inevitable final rest, will you look back on your journey and feel proud of what you've accomplished? The hope is that you will, and the time to ensure that pride is now. Therefore, let us all recommit to living a life that we can look back on with a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. Because one day, as we prepare for that longest sleep, we want to do so feeling satisfied and content with our actions.

Now, get back to work and make every moment count.
