What I’m up to right now
This is a /now page, inspired by Derek Sivers. A snapshot of my life right now — what I’m focused on, what I’m learning, and what I’m saying no to. More personal than a resume, more current than an about page.
Location
Currently based in the Bay Area, pursuing my Master’s in Information Technology Management while tinkering with Linux servers. Balancing between building resilient systems during the day and experimenting in my home lab at night.
Learning
Kubernetes & cloud-native everything
Finally taking the time to properly understand container orchestration beyond “docker-compose up”. Service mesh, operators, CRDs and all the things that seemed foreign before are starting to click.
System design at scale
Reading “Designing Data-Intensive Applications” and having those lightbulb moments where distributed systems concepts finally make sense. Also learning the hard way through production incidents.
Go
Most of the tools I’ll be working with as a reliability engineer are written in Go, and being able to read, modify, and contribute to them will be a core part of my job.

Health
Lifting 5x/week and daily cardio. I’m not training for anything specific, just building consistency — and I’ve noticed a lot of improvement in my overall energy and mood since I started.
Bowling
Currently holding a 191 average with the Motiv Pride Liberty and Black Widow Mania. Aiming for my second 300 game of the year. Still toying with the idea of joining a league, but for now I’m satisfied bowling casually.
Photography
Weekly adventures with my camera. No agenda, just seeing what catches my eye. Most of my recent photos are landscape and nature, as I’ve grown out of portrait photography.
Chess
Playing chess, online or offline, helps me stay sharp and think several moves ahead. Current ELO of 802 and working my way to 1000.
Amplex
Working with a small team of marketers to build out the Amplex brand and online presence. Managing the automation processes and troubleshooting whatever is keeping the team from scaling has been a rewarding experience.
Elsewhere
This page is part of the /now movement. If you have a website, you should make one too.
