Why Write?

Thoughts

For the past few weeks I've randomly mentioned to a few people that I wanted to start a blog. The responses I have gotten are that I should at-least try it out. I personally don't see myself as that good of a writer so it's always been up in the air. Just another idea that I have talked myself in and out of multiple times.

This morning I took a few minutes to jot up a few reasons why I should not start writing.
\

  1. I am not a strong writer.
  2. People will criticize what I publish.
  3. I may say the wrong thing which could come back to haunt me.
  4. I will have to make the time to write consistently.
  5. Writing simply isn't in my comfort zone.
  6. I just don't know what to write.

I thought about these six reasons all day and came up with the following responses
    \
  7. I am not a strong writer now, but with practice I will be.
  8. People will criticize anything, who cares?
  9. I also might say something that someone finds really useful.
  10. I waste enough time on my phone. This is a better use of my free time.
  11. I don't want to live in my comfort zone so this will challenge me.
  12. Cognitive Dissonance is not particularly a bad thing.

I think I will begin after all.
